We recently came across an article on Insider Monkey talking about the 10 most expensive ties in the world. Ties ranged from Ralph Lauren's Black Label Tie at $155 all the way up to a whopping $220,000 for The Suashish tie designed by The Satya Paul Design Studio back in 2003. Seriously?! Ok maybe that's because it's lined with 150 grams of gold and studded with 271 diamonds, but doesn't that seem outrageous for a tie? We think so. Even the least expensive tie on their list seems a little steep at $155.
That is a big reason behind the birth of DAZI in 2015. We noticed that skinny ties, especially those with fun designs, were starting to be a big trend among young adults. But we had such a hard time finding ties for a decent price that we decided to start making our own (you can read more about our story here).
